Weekend
Today, the moment I got in the water, I choked. After that, every time I tried swimming toward the deep end, the lifeguard started circling around. Damn, I’ve been marked.
On Friday, I went to Chatswood alone to soak in the bustling vibes of the world. Holding a bubble tea in one hand and a savory pancake in the other—two very high-calorie snacks—I sat by the roadside listening to the singer Kaye He perform. After a few songs, I wanted to leave a tip, but I didn’t have any cash on me. All I could do was silently thank the heavens for blessing us with such beautiful music and a joyful moment. Just then, I saw Lin Xin and Daniel walking by. What are the odds?
When they saw me, they said I was living in "The Truman Show." Apparently, the director had arranged for them to run into me there and invite me to hang out. So, we planned a Saturday hiking trip to the beach. Along the trail, there was this really interesting rock with a hole in it. We ended up walking over 8 kilometers round trip, and by the end, all three of us were evenly sunburned. Both lunch and dinner were super filling, and we drank an absurd amount of water. When I got home and weighed myself, I was over two kilos heavier than usual. Freaked out, I immediately had a heart-to-heart with ChatGPT to analyze the reasons.
If I had to pick the childhood anime that I loved the most and that moved me the most, it would definitely be the Digimon series. Sadly, I still can’t play any of the songs from it. Occasionally, I’ll sit at the drum set and mess around, but there are so many details in the music that require careful practice. While drumming, I’ll sometimes feel like singing along. Unfortunately, aside from the one line “無限大な夢のあとの,” everything else comes out as a jumbled mess. Still, I’m passionate enough to want to learn a few lyrics. I can’t help it—I always feel like someone who loves the same anime as me must be a good person. And if they also like "Butter-Fly," then they’re automatically a friend. I guess that’s what being a nerd is all about.
